Video: Glastonbury Carnival 2022

For the most part, it was a dry night when the 2022 carnival circuit reached its conclusion in Glastonbury on Saturday night.

Thousands thronged the streets to watch the procession pass - for the first time in almost three years, following a pandemic-forced break in proceedings.

From Vikings to Samba and everything in between, the town was a riot of noise, music and dance, heating up a chilly night in November. More people than ever turned up to cheer the parade on, with Glastonbury car parks bursting to capacity from late afternoon.

It was, of course, the Jubilee cart - built by 200 members of 17 carnival clubs for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London - that closed the parade and the 2022 carnival season as a gentle shower started to fall toward the end of the route.

Huckyduck CC took the County Cup, and first prize in the Tableaux category with When Movies were Movies, with Feast of Fools by Gremlins CC winning the feature cart category. Newmarket CC won the prize for comedy cart with Men in Tights.
