Tickets are now on sale for Glastonbury and Street Musical Comedy Society's pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

The panto will be held at Strode Theatre, Street, from Friday December 27 to Wednesday January 1, with performances at 2pm and 6pm on the first four days, and then 2pm on the final two days.

Alan Frayn has written this adaptation, which is hailed as being full of artistry and magic, re-awakening this tale-of-old, with bucket-loads of comedy.

It is traditional pantomime, but a refreshing break from the more conventional format, this modern version of Sleeping Beauty promises to be panto at its best.

An extra-large portion of comedy and some very original twists and turns along the way make for a novel and artistic production.

Nurse Hettie Harpic, the puddle-brained Muddles and two hapless heralds, Fetch and Carrie, ensure the laughs come thick and fast, especially when they meet head-to-head in a hilarious schoolroom scene.

Brian Epps is directing the show, with Shelley Smith as choreographer, Shaun Rigby as musical director, and Mary Parker and Judi Neale as producers.

The cast includes Matt Turner and King Cactus, Jo Turley as Queen Marigold, Elisha Webster as Princess Rose and Emma Powell as Prince Alexis.

Ticket prices all performances are adults £15, concessions £14, children 16 years and under £10, Family Evening Special: two adults and two children £46, and party bookings: one free seat in 10.
