Take the plunge into 2024 and make a splash for charity with the third annual New Year's Day Dip at Minehead Beach, hosted by St Margaret's Hospice Care.

Brace yourselves for a bracing start to January 1, as the community comes together to dive into the new year.

Adding a dash of playfulness, this year's attendees are invited to sport their most imaginative costumes.

The New Year's Day Dip is not just about the thrill; it's a heartwarming endeavour to kindle community spirit, sponsored by Wilkie May & Tuckwood. This chilly tradition has seen a swell of support, drawing more participants with each year.

Ready to take on the cool Atlantic waters at 10 a.m., it's the perfect opportunity to cast aside the festive season's indulgences and kickstart the year with gusto.

Joining the festivities means you'll not only earn a unique St Margaret's bobble hat and a warming drink as part of your entry but also contribute to a noble cause. This year's goal is to raise £10,000, enough to fund 100 home visits by Specialist Community Nurses in Somerset.

Last year, Community Nurse Specialist Anna Page and her husband Matt Page braved the waters, finding the experience exhilarating. "The support from everyone in the water is a huge boost," Anna reflected, while Matt reminisced on the lasting buzz of positivity and camaraderie on the beach, urging others to join in for a truly remarkable cause.

Registration is open, with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £7 for children. Secure your spot for a memorable and meaningful New Year's Day here.
