Nub News backs Glastonbury businesses through the second lockdown

A second national lockdown is upon us, but businesses in the Glastonbury area are still providing a whole host of services for local customers.

At Glastonbury Nub News, we support local businesses so here is a round-up of the services being offered by a number of businesses in and around the town during the lockdown.

We will will updating this article regularly, so if the services your business is offering changes, or if you would like to add your business, please email [email protected].

Facets of Avalon

Facets of Avalon will be operating a mail order service from now on. You can visit their website at www.facetsofavalon.com.

Wakey Cakey Kitchen

Wakey Cakey Kitchen will continue to supply and delivery awesome birthday cakes and cupcakes to everyone in Glastonbury, Street, Wells and surrounding villages with free delivery every Friday.

Tor Sparks Ltd

Tor Sparks Ltd electrical contractors will be available over lockdown for any of our customers requiring emergency electrical works.

Our electricians are fully equipped with Covid PPE.

Heart of the Tribe Gallery

We will be showing our current exhibition and previous exhibition online with interactive walk throughs.

We will also be offering a free delivery service for all online orders from our website to any address within a 10-mile radius of Glastonbury.

R&T Fish Bar

We are staying open as normal but we are trying to discourage attendance at the shop so we are asking people to order online for delivery.

They can collect if they wish but will probably not be allowed to enter the shop so we will pass their order to them.

www.rosieandteres.co.uk

Full menu on the website and we will update our Facebook page with the specials that we offer of homemade food.

Subway

Our store in Glastonbury is offering takeaway and delivery which you can order on JustEat.

Pyramid Catering

Pyramid Catering, located at 22 The Gauntlet, BA6 9QL, will be opening the vegan bakery and takeaway on Fridays and Saturdays only through lockdown.

My opening hours will be from 11am until 3pm, on both days.

Customers can call the shop on 07941 786442 and place orders, or they can just turn up.

There is plenty of parking right next to the shop, in St John's car park.

Double-Gate Farm

At Double-Gate Farm (Godney), the accommodation side of the business is obviously closed and our Tea Room is now back to offering a collection/delivery service as previously done so in the earlier lockdown.

Customers will need to call me to arrange an order. My number is 07843 924079.

We deliver on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but if demand/order is sufficient we will deliver on a Wednesday or Thursday.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Examples of what we offer:

  • Luxury afternoon tea platters
  • Whole cakes: Victoria/chocolate/coffee and walnut/carrot/biscoff/apple crumble and custard cake
  • Cream teas
  • Cookie boxes

In December the usual afternoon tea will upgrade to our Christmas afternoon tea. We are taking bookings for delivery from December 1 to 19. Eating on-site bookings are being taken after December 2.

Advice is to book now as we are getting quite busy with these. Weekends already pretty much booked.

All bookings will be asked if they mind that we platter and collect/deliver if lockdown is extended beyond December 2. If your desired date is already booked we can deliver. Not a problem.

There is a minimum £15 for free delivery to Wells/Glastonbury/Street, a £3 delivery charge for villages immediately outside of these areas and £5 for further afield.

Delivery to Paulton/Midsomer Norton/Radstock area will be on a Sunday or if demand enough we can deliver on our other 'open' days.
