In a bid to help those struggling with sky-rocketing energy prices, Strode Theatre is opening its doors to provide a warm space this winter.

A spokesman said: "With the high energy prices, we know it's going to be difficult this winter. We are opening our doors during several weekends this winter, when people are welcome to come and sit in the theatre bar, browse our bookshelf, have a cup of tea, listen to some jazz and watch the world go by... and save on your energy bills."

Here is a list of dates and times that the theatre will be open:

Saturday, November 12 2.30pm-10.30pm

Sunday, November 20 2pm-8pm

Saturday, November 26 2.30pm-9pm (jazz from 7pm)

Saturday, December 3 1pm-10pm

Sunday, December 11 2pm-8pm (includes jazz in the bar)

Saturday, December 17 2.30pm-10pm

Friday, December 23 1pm-8pm
