Over 155 budding artists at Strode College in Street exhibited their creativity and talent at the recently held End of Year Art Show.

Taking place on the college campus, the week-long event from 13th to 20th June welcomed a buzzing crowd of students, families, and the local community, a return to normality following three years of pandemic-induced constraints.

This annual showcase signifies the culmination of the students' academic journey in visual arts at Strode. It allows them to exhibit the skills they've nurtured throughout their studies and receive recognition for their outstanding achievements. This year, nine students were acknowledged for their remarkable work in fields such as painting, sculpture, graphics, digital art, mixed media, textiles, and photography.

The End of Year Art Show is a much-anticipated event among the Strode community. It provides a window into the development of learners' skills and the creativity that the institution helps to foster.

"The End of Year show allows the Art and Design students to showcase their talents," said John Revill, Principal of Strode College. "I am always impressed by the maturity and high-level skills shown by our students, and it is a credit to them as I know that each individual has put their heart and soul into producing such high-quality work."

The students honoured for their outstanding achievements were rewarded with a certificate an £100 voucher, and the college or the award sponsors purchased a piece of their art for 'The Strode Collection'.

Petrina Rochester, Head of Faculty Art and Science, said, "It has been a pleasure to reintroduce the End of Year Show after three summers of pandemic limiting our engagement with the public...As ever, our students have produced outstanding work, and this has been recognised in the awards."
