Today, you can experience the beauty of the Mendip Hills for free.

On this one-off occasion, First Bus invites travellers to explore the Mendip Xplorer 376 service, one of its longest and most picturesque routes, without needing to purchase tickets, vouchers or codes.

Running from the crack of dawn at 5.30am until day's end, this 30-mile service stretches from Street to Bristol, passing by some of the region's top attractions.

From retail therapy at Clarks Village in Street to Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral and Bristol's Unicornfest trail, there's something to tickle everyone's fancy.

Tom Hughes, the Operations Manager for the Wells bus network which includes the Mendip Xplorer 376 service, said: "The 376 is currently one of our best value bus routes. With adult single tickets currently at £2, it means you can travel from Street to Bristol for as little as 7p per mile.

"Not only is it great value, but it is also one of our most picturesque routes, taking in some of our main hubs including Street, Glastonbury and Wells, before passing over the rolling Mendip Hills, with the most spectacular views across Somerset and the iconic Glastonbury Tor towering over the landscape.

"Even if you don't need a specific reason to travel, taking the 376 is a great trip out in its own right. With free travel later this month, why not join the hundreds of people who use this route every day, and see for yourself how quick, easy and cheap it is to travel from the heart of Somerset into the city centre."

The 376 service travels along the A37 and A39 through Street, Glastonbury, Wells, Chewton Mendip, Farrington Gurney, Temple Cloud, Clutton, Pensford and on to Bristol city centre.
