Street Thursday Market has unveiled a new logo following a community competition run by Street Parish Council.

The winning design, created by a local educational professional who chose to remain anonymous, was picked from a range of entries aiming to capture the character and spirit of the village and its bustling weekly market.

The designer said: "The weekly market is more than just a place to shop; it's a cornerstone of community life. It's where neighbours meet, local businesses thrive, and visitors get a true taste of what makes Street so special."

Inspired by Street's High Street, the village clock and the town's floral displays, the logo was praised by councillors as instantly recognisable and rooted in local identity.

"The logo isn't just a graphic, it's a symbol of pride, character and community. I hope this new design says, 'This is Street,' and invites everyone to recognise its charm and feel part of its story," the winner added.

Street Thursday Market was transferred to the Parish Council from Somerset Council in April 2025 as part of the devolution process. Councillors said the new branding will help strengthen the market's presence, attract more visitors and support local businesses.
