Locals in Street can get a first look at plans for a major traffic light upgrade today — with a public drop-in running this afternoon.
Somerset Council is replacing the signals at the A39 junction by Clarks Village as part of a county-wide programme. Works are due to begin in January 2026.
Residents can view the plans and ask questions at The Grange, next to the Clarks Village main entrance, between 3.30 pm and 7 pm today (Tuesday, 9 December). The venue is a change from earlier notices.
The council says the upgrade will modernise equipment and reduce maintenance issues. No details have yet been confirmed on how long the works will last or the extent of traffic disruption.
