Shoemakers Museum in Street has been shortlisted for Permanent Exhibition of the Year at the 2026 Museums + Heritage Awards, less than a year after opening.
The museum at Clarks Village has been recognised for its permanent exhibition, Place, People and Purpose, which explores 200 years of shoemaking, design and community history linked to Clarks and Street.
Rosie Martin, Director of Shoemakers Museum, said: "To be shortlisted for a Museums + Heritage Award less than a year after opening is incredibly exciting for us.
"'Place, People and Purpose' was created to celebrate the stories of the people behind the shoes and the communities connected to this extraordinary industry and this recognition means a great deal to the whole team and everyone who helped bring the museum to life."
The museum is a project of the Alfred Gillett Trust and opened to mark 200 years of Clarks. It has been shortlisted alongside the Natural History Museum, Science and Industry Museum, Poole Museum and Avoncroft Museum of Buildings.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at a ceremony in London.
