Motorists in Street are being warned of disruption around Brooks Road and Middle Brooks this week as roadworks continue during the half-term break.

The work began on Tuesday, 26 May, and is expected to remain in place until Monday, 1 June, at 3 pm.

According to updates shared locally, the current phase involves preparation work and patching repairs where the road surface has been damaged ahead of later resurfacing.

The scheme is being carried out on behalf of Somerset Highways by contractor Kiely Bros.

Road closures and diversions are currently in place around Brooks Road, with access being phased to allow vehicles to continue reaching Goss Drive and adjoining roads during the works.

Surface dressing is expected to take place later in the summer, with timings planned around school holiday dates.

Questions have also been raised locally over bus routes during the closures, with confirmation on diversion arrangements for First Bus services still being checked due to conflicting information.

Residents are being directed to the one.network roadworks website for the latest updates on highways and utility works across the area.

The current works form part of wider maintenance efforts aimed at repairing damaged sections of road before full resurfacing takes place later in the year.
