Street's Merriman Park Fun Day will not take place in 2026, organisers have confirmed.

The Merriman Park Community Group said it had made the "difficult decision" to cancel the event that had been due to be held on Saturday, 5 September.

In a statement, chair Simon Carswell thanked everyone who has supported the day over the years — from attendees and volunteers to those who helped plan and deliver the event. He also paid tribute to Street Parish Council for nine years of support for the Fun Day.

"It has been a wonderful community occasion and we are grateful to all who made it possible," the group said.

The Community Group said it still has "other projects in the pipeline" and encouraged residents to watch this space for details.
