What's On in Street and Glastonbury is brought to you by The Loft - your local spot for great food, live music and late nights.

Glastonbury and Street are mixing community support with culture this weekend, offering everything from carers' coffee and conversation to clay workshops and live folk.

Friday 27 February begins with the Glastonbury Carers Group at Brunel Glastonbury Care Home, Pike Close, BA6 9PZ. Organised by Somerset Carers Service and West Mendip PCN, the free and informal gathering is for people who regularly look after someone in an unpaid capacity. Attendees can arrive from 10.30am, and first-time visitors are asked to call ahead in case of schedule changes. Carers are welcome to bring the person they support, who can join activities and conversation with residents.

Also on Friday from 12 noon to 4pm, The Write Assistant Writers Retreat takes place at Friars Oven Farm, West Compton, BA4 4PD. The session includes guided exercises, writing meditation, editing activities and time to work on personal projects. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, with an optional chicken casserole and bread lunch available for £10 in addition to the £50 ticket price. Organisers advise wearing wellies to reach the venue from the parking area.

On Friday evening at 7pm, Dominic Chorney presents Talk: Treasures of the Occult – A Guide to History's Unorthodox Money at Glastonbury Town Hall in the council chamber. The illustrated talk explores unusual and folkloric imagery that has appeared on coinage throughout history. GAS members attend free, with non-members paying £2.

Running from Friday 27 February to Sunday 8 March, open Thursday to Sunday between 10am and 5pm, is Tethered Lines: Matter BecomIng at No. 6 Bruton, 6 High Street, BA10 0AA. The exhibition by Fiona Campbell features recent work alongside live demonstrations of work in progress. A private view takes place on Thursday 26 February from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Her interdisciplinary practice spans sculpture, drawing, installation and textiles, with a focus on persistence, interconnectedness and transformation in relation to climate breakdown.

On Saturday 28 February, the Janey Hunt Studio Sale begins at 8 Manning Close, Wells BA5 2XT, running daily from 10.30am to 4pm until Sunday 8 March.
