Street house fire leaves two people in hospital

Two people were taken to hospital after a fire at a domestic property on Glaston Road in Street last night.
Fire crews were called at 9.09 pm on 19 July, with appliances sent from Somerton, Wells, Glastonbury and Street.
Crews used three hose reel jets, three attack jets, ceiling hooks and small tools to tackle the blaze. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and stop it spreading further through the property.
The home was 50 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent damaged by smoke. Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance following the incident.
A fire investigation is due to take place to establish the cause of the blaze.
