A Street woman has been praised for her tireless work supporting residents after winning a top community award.
Michaela Edmunds, who runs the Crispin Community Centre, received the Somerset Chair's Award at a ceremony on Thursday, 10 October 2025. She was chosen for her role in transforming the centre into a lifeline for the town — offering everything from coffee mornings to youth holiday clubs.
Crispin Centre also runs craft groups, wellbeing sessions and family events — all aimed at giving local people a place to connect. And from Tuesday, 25 November, its popular Soup Kitchen will return every week, serving hot food and company at Crispin Hall from 2.30pm to 6.15pm.
Volunteers are being asked to get in touch by calling 01458 447248.
