Street crime falls as Glastonbury offences rise

Street recorded 60 crimes in April 2026, down from 104 the previous month, according to the latest monthly police figures. Glastonbury Town recorded 122 crimes in April, up from 74 in March.
The figures show a clear month-on-month fall in Street, where total recorded crime dropped by 44 offences. In Glastonbury Town, the total rose by 48 offences over the same period.
Violent crime was the largest category in both areas in April. Street recorded 25 violent crimes, while Glastonbury Town recorded 45.
In Street, anti-social behaviour was the second-highest category, with 12 incidents recorded in April. Shoplifting accounted for six crimes, while other theft and public order each accounted for five.
Street also recorded three criminal damage and arson offences, two other crimes, one burglary and one vehicle crime. No bicycle theft, drugs, robbery or theft from the person offences were listed for Street in April.
The fall in Street followed a busier March, when 104 crimes were recorded. That month included 45 violent crimes, 16 shoplifting offences, 11 anti-social behaviour incidents and nine public order offences.
Glastonbury Town's April total was led by violent crime, followed by anti-social behaviour, with 23 incidents, and shoplifting, with 18. Public order accounted for 12 crimes, while other theft accounted for seven.
The town also recorded six criminal damage and arson offences, five other crimes, four burglaries and two drugs offences in April. No robbery, vehicle crime or theft from the person offences were listed for Glastonbury Town that month.
In March, Glastonbury Town recorded 74 crimes, including 16 violent crimes, 15 shoplifting offences and 13 anti-social behaviour incidents. The March figures also included three robberies, three vehicle crimes and one theft from the person.
Police note that it can take up to 30 days for the previous month's statistics to become available. The latest figures cover recorded crimes for April 2026.
