Big changes are on the horizon for Glastonbury's motorists, with St Dunstan's Car Park gearing up for a revised parking fee structure from April 1, 2024.

Glastonbury Town Council has laid out a new pricing plan that sees increases ranging between 9% and 17% across different parking durations in a move aimed at balancing the town's parking facility needs with financial sustainability.

The cost for a one-hour stay will now be £2.30, up by 30p, marking a 15% hike.

For a two-hour slot, drivers will need to shell out £3.50, reflecting a 50p or 17% increase. Planning to linger for four hours? That'll set you back £6.00, thanks to a £1.00 increase. And for those needing a spot for a full day, the fee climbs to £12.00, up by £1.00 or a 9% rise.

For carnival night fees for coaches and minibuses will hold steady at £60.00 and £40.00, respectively, keeping the event accessible for groups and ensuring the festive spirit continues unhampered.

The council's adjustment to the parking fees is part of a broader strategy to efficiently manage Glastonbury's parking resources while generating the necessary revenue to maintain and enhance these facilities.

The additional income is earmarked for the upkeep of parking areas, with an eye on funding other community projects that enrich Glastonbury for residents and visitors alike.
