Get into the Halloween spirit: Glastonbury and Street's spooktacular weekend of events!

Glastonbury and Street are full of excitement this Halloween season, offering a range of spooky activities, traditional Samhain celebrations, and family-friendly events. Whether you're planning to get creative at a Samhain market, join in the mystical processions, or shuffle through the streets as a zombie, there's plenty to entertain all ages. Dive into the magic and mystery of these historic towns this weekend as they come alive with Halloween and Samhain celebrations.

On Friday, 25th October, the Avalon Halloween Party kicks off the weekend in style at the Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury, running from 7pm to midnight. Expect live music, a shamanic ceremony, and an evening of fun and revelry with a mix of spiritual and lively vibes.

Earlier in the day, Wells Cathedral will host a free lunchtime concert by Southern Voices at 1:05pm. Take a break from the spooky festivities and enjoy a selection of works performed by the renowned choir under the leadership of Jamal Sutton. More details here.

For a more relaxed Friday evening, join the Snowdrop Sound Sessions at Avalon Community Centre in Glastonbury for an evening of sound healing and relaxation, from 7pm to 8:30pm.

But if you're ready to party, Studio24 in Wells is the place to be as the Dub Pistols hit the stage at 7pm, bringing their explosive mix of dub, hip-hop, and electronica. Expect a night of high-energy beats with local DJs setting the mood before the band takes over.

On Saturday, 26th October, Glastonbury's streets will come alive with the Dragons Wild Hunt. This Samhain celebration, starting at 3pm, begins at Market Cross and will see the Red and White Dragons battle it out, with the procession winding through the town, ending with a seasonal ceremony and Morris Dancing. For those looking to explore local artistry, The Big Creative Samhain Market is taking place from 10am to 4:30pm at the Assembly Rooms in Glastonbury. Here you'll find handcrafted goods, local artists, and holistic traders—perfect for picking up unique gifts while celebrating Samhain creatively.

Shepton Mallet will also offer some family-friendly fun with Tectonic at The Art Bank, running from 10am to 3pm. This free event invites participants to create a collaborative artwork using plastic bricks. Click here for more info.

Later that evening, The King Arthur in Glastonbury will host Mr. B – The Gentleman Rhymer from 8pm to 11pm. Enjoy an evening of chap-hop and comic tunes that promise to keep you entertained all night.

If you're in Wells, don't miss Repair Saturday at Wells Library from 10am to 12:30pm, where local volunteers will help fix your broken household items, promoting sustainable living.

Later, get your groove on at the Glastonbury Soul Club at Glastonbury Football Club from 8pm. Expect a night of soul classics and modern hits that will keep you dancing.

Sunday, 27th October brings a second day of creative fun at Tectonic in Shepton Mallet's Art Bank from 10am to 3pm, perfect for families looking for a hands-on activity. Find out more here.

Cedars Hall, Wells: Op. 8 & Giro d'Italia

Wells will also see some classical music action with two musical events at Cedars Hall, featuring Op. 8 and Giro d'Italia on Sunday.

On Monday, 28th October, Castle Cary will host a Care Recruitment Event at The Market House from 11am to 1pm, offering a chance to explore job opportunities with Weavers Lodge. If you're looking for a new career, drop by and meet the friendly team in person. More details here.

On Tuesday, 29th October, Wells Cathedral will host Family Holiday Activities: Bishop Bubwith's Books from 10am to 4pm. This family-friendly event will take you through the cathedral's 600-year-old library with fun trails, illuminated lettering, and more. More details here.

As we approach Halloween, the Glastonbury Zombie Walk on 31st October is not to be missed. Starting at 4:30pm, participants will shuffle through the town in their best zombie attire, raising funds for Children's World.

Throughout the week, Wookey Hole Caves will host the Blood Moon Spectacle, transforming the caves into a spooky wonderland with a Giant Pumpkin Trail and thrilling performances.
