Locals wanted to help bring a bit of joy to Glastonbury care home residents

Glastonbury Care Home is on the lookout for locals willing to roll up their sleeves and help make life a little brighter for its residents.

The home, tucked away on the edge of town with views of Glastonbury Tor, wants volunteers to join in with gardening, light DIY, or simple craft sessions that bring people together.

It's less about skill, staff say, and more about showing up for an hour or two to share some company and conversation.

One team member said: "We're not asking for much — just a bit of time and kindness. The residents love seeing new faces, especially when there's laughter and chatter involved."

From planting bulbs to making decorations, every helping hand counts. The goal is to make the home's garden and communal spaces as warm and welcoming as the people who live there.

Anyone keen to volunteer can contact Glastonbury Care Home to find out more.
