Glastonbury Abbey offers free entry for Lottery week
By Laura Linham 9th Mar 2026
Visitors will be able to explore Glastonbury Abbey for free this week as part of a nationwide National Lottery celebration.
The historic site in Glastonbury is offering free entry from Monday, 9 March to Friday, 13 March for anyone who presents a valid National Lottery ticket, scratchcard or Instant Win Game.
The offer forms part of National Lottery Open Week, which sees Lottery-funded venues across the UK provide free entry or special deals to thank players who help raise around £32 million a week for good causes.
Glastonbury Abbey said the offer is a way to thank National Lottery players who have helped support projects at the historic site.
The abbey recently completed the Abbey Yard project, a major redevelopment of its visitor entrance which opened in April 2025.
The scheme created a new café, gift shop and multi-functional community space and was supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the wider Glastonbury Town Deal.
During the week, visitors will be able to explore the abbey's historic ruins, take part in guided tours and visit the Abbey Yard Café and Gift Shop.
The abbey has also confirmed it will extend its Kids Go Free promotion during the same period, meaning children aged 0 to 15 accompanying National Lottery players will also be admitted free of charge.
To claim the offer, visitors simply need to present a physical or digital National Lottery ticket when they arrive.
