Free Glastonbury Abbey entry offered to families making bird feeders this half-term
By Laura Linham 6th Oct 2026
Families are being offered free entry to Glastonbury Abbey this half-term as part of an activity helping birds through the colder months.
Children aged five and over can join a bird feeder-making session on Friday, 30 October, with all-day admission to the abbey included.
Two sessions are available, from 11am to 12.30pm and from 12.30pm to 2pm. Places are limited and must be booked for each child taking part, although accompanying parents and guardians do not need to book a separate space. www.glastonburyabbey.com
Participants will make three types of feeder using cereal, apples and peanut butter tubes. Nature-themed crafts will also be available after the feeders are finished.
The family volunteering event is being held to celebrate Feed the Birds Day and encourage people to support wildlife as winter approaches.
Families taking part will also receive a 10 per cent discount at the Yard Café.
Children must remain accompanied by an adult throughout. Organisers advise that peanut butter will be used for one activity, which will take place at a separate table.
Places can be booked free through the Glastonbury Abbey website. www.glastonburyabbey.com
