CPRE Somerset's 2022 photography competition with the theme "Happy days in Somerset" is now open.

The countryside charity's annual photo competition celebrates what is special about Somerset. This year, judges are looking for photos that capture happy days out and about in the Somerset countryside. It's up to you how you interpret the theme "Happy days in Somerset".

Your photo could show a family picnic, kids having fun flying a kite, your favourite dog walk, friends blackberry picking or people enjoying an outdoor festival – the possibilities are endless. There are two prizes of £100 each – one for adults and one for under 18s.

We are ideally looking for photos that include people enjoying the outdoors or close up details showing the intimate experience of being outside in our green spaces. This year the competition is sponsored by the Trowbridge Gallery in Castle Cary. Ross Alexander of Moment Photography in Bridgwater will join the judging panel along with our regular judges, Andrew Lee, Editor of The Leveller , our Chair, Hugh Williams and CPRE member Kit Houghton, who is also a professional photographer.

Competition entry is FREE and you may enter up to 3 photographs. Your images can be taken in the last 2 years and photos from all seasons are very welcome. Closing date is August 31, 2022. Full Ts&Cs on our website.
