Somerset Council and Avon and Somerset Police are partnering to conduct compliance checks on street traders in Glastonbury this month.

The initiative aims to target illegal street trading and ensure that all vendors selling items on the street have the proper Street Trading Consent.

Licensing Officers from Somerset Council, accompanied by Police Officers, will conduct random checks and request documentation from street traders to verify their consent.

Those who fail to provide the necessary documents will be issued a warning letter and advised on how to obtain proper consent.

The council is prepared to act appropriately against anyone found trading illegally.

Similar compliance checks are scheduled to take place in other towns across Somerset. Visit the Somerset Council website to learn more about street trading regulations.
