This government-released data, which is the first of its kind since the disruption caused by the Covid outbreak, details how schools fared in the SATs exams this summer.

It also accounts for the overall progress students have made in primary school.

Preston CofE Primary School in Yeovil leads the pack, but not far behind are Walton Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School and Meare Village Primary School, which have showcased their educational prowess with high percentages of pupils meeting the expected standards.

Walton and Meare schools stand out for their commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, registering 84% and 79%, respectively of pupils meeting expected standards.

The Compare Schools Performance service has provided an interactive graphic that ranks schools by overall performance at the end of key stage 2 in 2023. It offers parents and the wider community transparent insights into the quality of education these institutions provide.
