Elan Homes will unveil a show home at the premium homes collection off Old Wells Road at the weekend (August 7), but canny buyers have been quick off the mark to home in on its Avalon development set in the heart of the glorious Somerset countryside.

The good news for aspiring first time buyers is that homes priced under £349,000 are eligible for the Government-backed Help to Buy equity loan scheme.

Designed to make homeownership easier to afford, it offers the chance to secure a new home with a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

Avalon will feature 42 homes for private sale including a mix of two to five-bedroom homes with terraced, semi-detached and detached designs.

There's also the chance for buyers to have VIP access by making 'early bird' reservations on properties not yet released for sale and which give them 'first refusal' on release.
