RTC Persons Trapped at Street Roundabout, Street

Date: 23.04.2019Time: 17:23Location: Street Roundabout, StreetDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a multi vehicle road traffic collision with one person believed to be trapped within one of the vehicles.

Fire control immediately mobilised one fire appliance from Street, one from Glastonbury, the rescue tender from Glastonbury and an Operational Assurance Officer.

On arrival crews confirmed a multi vehicle road traffic collision with a HGV also involved. A man was trapped within one of the vehicles and was being assessed by the Ambulance Service. Due to the nature of the incident crews made pumps three with the third pump coming from Somerton.

Crews got to work extricating the casualty using hydraulic rescue equipment. Once released the man was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.

The vehicles were made safe before crews handed over the incident to the Police.
