Road traffic collision, person trapped at Somerton Road, Marshalls Elm, Street

Date: 03.09.2018Time: 17:54Location: Somerton Road, Marshalls Elm, StreetTwo fire appliances from Street and Glastonbury stations plus the Rescue Tender from Glastonbury were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision where at least one person was trapped in the vehicle.On arrival crews confirmed a road traffic collision involving two vehicles, and the driver of one vehicle was still trapped.Crews set to work stabilising the vehicle and then removed the door from the driver side using hydraulic rescue equipment. This allowed the casualty to be removed from the vehicle and transferred to Ambulance personnel for treatment.Duty of care for the scene was left with the Police.
