Road Traffic Collision at A37, Fosse Way, Glastonbury

Date: 29.05.2019Time: 05:43Location: A37, Fosse Way, GlastonburyTwo fire appliances from Castle Cary and Somerton along with a rescue tender from Glastonbury were all mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry.On arrival, crews confirmed that one lorry had hit a railway bridge, which ended up on its side with the driver still within the vehicle.Crews rescued the driver using a HGV platform, a triple extension ladder, a Makita saw and a glass master. Crews also dealt with a small diesel leak from the vehicle using pads to absorb it.
