Riders in the Sky (RITS) will take place at Glastonbury Football Club on Sunday, 25th August, with a full day of entertainment, family fun, and live music.

The event was created in memory of Lee Baker, a beloved friend, brother, and father, who was tragically killed on 8th November 2010. Lee was known for his passion for charity work and motorcycles, and the event brings together his diverse group of friends for a day that celebrates his life while raising money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The day will begin at 10am with a motorcycle 'ride out', where bikers can participate for £5 and ride along some of Lee's favourite roads. Afterwards, the main event kicks off at 12.30pm with a family fun day featuring children's entertainment, food and drink stalls, a raffle, and an auction with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses.

The highlight of the day will be the live music from local bands, with performances on two stages throughout the day. The main stage will see Electric Temple, The Pressure, The Back River Rats, and the Portway Blues Band, with DJ Andy Maynard taking over on the inside stage from 7pm until late.

Since its inception, Riders in the Sky has received tremendous local support, raising over £9,000 in its debut year. The event has continued to grow and was the largest independent donor to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance in its first year. The organisers hope this year's event will be even bigger, with more money raised for the vital work of the air ambulance service, which plays a crucial role in saving lives in the rural areas of Dorset and Somerset.

Riders in the Sky is not just about raising funds but also remembering those who have been lost in motorcycle accidents and celebrating the joy of riding. The event is set to be a great day out for all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy.
