Relive the magic of the Wells & Glastonbury Young Farmers’ Illuminated Tractor Run
The Wells & Glastonbury Young Farmers' Christmas Illuminated Tractor Run lit up the Somerset countryside in spectacular style last night.
With festive lights twinkling across the villages and towns, the annual event brought cheer to hundreds of spectators and raised funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Capturing the festive magic, local videographer Gabriel Avalon filmed the parade as it passed through Glastonbury, and his stunning footage is now available to watch on YouTube. From the creative decorations on the tractors to the delighted crowds lining the streets, the video offers a front-row seat to the festive extravaganza.
The parade began at Worthy Farm, where tractors and 4x4s assembled before setting off on their illuminated journey through Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Croscombe, Dulcote, Wells, Coxley, Polsham, Glastonbury, and West Pennard. Each stop was met with smiles, laughter, and plenty of festive spirit as the community came together to celebrate.
The highlight of the evening? The competition for the best-decorated tractor brought out some truly dazzling designs, from glowing Santas to sparkling Christmas trees.
The creativity and effort on display were a testament to the holiday spirit of those taking part.
Among those taking part in the event was Wells-based Tinknell Fuels, who decorated two of their trucks for the engagement. A spokesperson for the firm said: "Tincknell Fuels were delighted to take part in the Illuminated Tractor Run, supporting our community, spreading festive cheer, and raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. It was fantastic to see so many people lining the streets to cheer on the tractors and join in the celebration!"

The tractor run not only brought festive joy to the local community (and lots of posts in community Facebook groups asking what all the honking was about) but also raised much-needed funds for charity.
Whether you were there in person or catching up online, the event showcases the power of community, creativity, and Christmas cheer.
