PureGym confirms new Glastonbury site on Wirral Park Road

The UK's biggest budget gym chain has announced plans to open a new 24-hour site on Wirral Park Road, bringing its no-frills fitness formula to the town.
PureGym will be based at Unit 2, in the building that used to house CarpetRight, and is currently listed as "opening soon".
There's no confirmed launch date yet, but the site is expected to follow PureGym's trademark model – no contracts, flexible memberships, and round-the-clock access.
Founded in 2009, PureGym has grown from a handful of sites in Leeds and Manchester into a nationwide chain with more than 400 gyms. It now operates across Europe and recently expanded into the US and Middle East. The business has built its success on low-cost, high-access gyms – stripping out extras like pools and spas to keep prices low and memberships flexible.
Glastonbury's new branch is part of an aggressive UK rollout, with PureGym targeting smaller towns and retail parks to grow its footprint. The company has plans to open 200 more sites over the next few years.
Locals eager to get lifting, running or spinning will have to wait a little longer – but the space is already listed online and works appear to be underway.
