Print partnership to help make Clarks Village more green

A partnership between printing company ARC-UK Technologies and property firm Landsec will help to reduce carbon emissions from Clarks Village.

The two firms have joined forces so that ARC-UK Technologies - who are carbon neutral - can provide a range of print and display services across Landsec's retail destinations, including Clarks Village in Street.

Supporting Somerset's carbon neutral 2030 plan, the company will provide vinyl for Landsec's properties in the county, which includes Clarks Village shopping outlet. The outlet was the first in the UK when it opened in 1993 on the site of old C&J Clark factory buildings.

Darren Moorhouse, head of sales UK & Europe for ARC UK-Technologies, said: "It is our aim to ensure that reducing carbon footprints and cutting emissions in line with local communities' targets is a cornerstone of our business. We believe strongly in helping our environment and our carbon neutral production sets a precedent for the industry as we become one of the first printing companies to offer this. Our partnership with Landsec further supports these plans and we look forward to working together to help tackle the UK's carbon footprint."

Chris Davis, Centre Director of Clarks Village, added: "Sustainability is at the heart of our values at Clarks Village.

"Our eco-initiatives include sending zero waste to landfill, using renewable energy and we even recycle coffee grounds from our cafes into compost for our landscaped gardens which feature bee-friendly flowers, bird houses and bug hotels.

"We are always looking for new ways to continue enhancing our environmental credentials. This new vinyl-printing partnership is an example of this aim, allowing us to further reduce our carbon footprint."
