In a significant move to clamp down on drug-related issues, the local police team in Glastonbury has announced a collaborative effort with the Street beat team, focusing on curtailing drug activity across the two areas.

This initiative agreed as a policing priority for the following months, underscores a proactive approach to addressing concerns around drug supply and consumption that affect community safety and well-being.

The police are calling on the public to play a crucial role in this endeavour by urging anyone with information on drug supply chains to come forward.

Intelligence can be submitted confidentially via the non-emergency number 101 online or through Crimestoppers, ensuring that community members can contribute to the effort without fear of reprisal.

A spokesperson for the police team said: "Working closely with the Street beat team allows us to enhance our focus on drug activity that impacts both Glastonbury and Street.

"Community intelligence is invaluable in these efforts, and we encourage anyone with information to contact us. Together, we can make significant strides in eradicating drug supply and ensuring the safety of our neighbourhoods."
