Police have launched an investigation after a late-night assault on Glastonbury High Street left a man with several stab wounds.

Ambulance crews called the police to the scene at 11.45pm on Friday (July 7th) as they treated a male victim, in his 20s.

The man had sustained multiple stab wounds in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment, although he has since been released.

A police spokesman said they are now looking for a 6'4 man in his 20 or 30s, with dyed blonde hair and several tattoos, including some on his neck.

Officers are reviewing CCTV and carrying out house-to-house inquiries as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101, quoting reference number 5223162591.
