In a targeted response to escalating complaints, the police are intensifying their focus on anti-social behaviour in key commercial and residential areas of Street, notably High Street, Leigh Road, and Gravenchon Way.

The decision comes after numerous reports from local businesses about a minority of individuals causing disruptions.

Anti-social behaviour, commonly called ASB, covers a broad range of activities that cause harm, distress, or alarm to individuals or the community. This can include anything from vandalism and graffiti to more menacing activities like verbal abuse or public disorder.

"A surge in anti-social behaviour concerns both the residents and businesses of Street. We're committed to dealing with this issue robustly, which includes stepping up patrols in the affected areas," said a spokesperson for the police. "CCTV will be an invaluable tool in identifying those responsible, and we will not hesitate to take appropriate action."

Since businesses in Gravenchon Way recently raised the alarm over increasing ASB incidents, the police have also pledged to continue regular patrols in this area.

Enforcement teams will scrutinise CCTV footage to identify suspects and coordinate with local businesses to stamp out disruptive activities.

The Beat Team will also continue with passing patrols around the High Street and Leigh Road. Their mission is to respond promptly to any ASB reports and maintain the community's peace and safety.

You can report anti-social behaviour to the police online, or by calling 101. If a crime is happening right now or you are in immediate danger, call 999.
