Police in Street intensify patrols to counter youth-related anti-social behaviour after residents' concerns.

Police in Street have stepped up patrols in response to a rise in anti-social behaviour involving young people, after multiple concerns were raised by residents and local organisations.

Officers have began carrying out high-visibility patrols in key locations across the village, which have been identified as trouble spots by members of the public and community stakeholders.

The increased police presence comes following reports of youth-related nuisance behaviour, including groups gathering in public spaces, noise, vandalism, intimidation and other forms of low-level disorder.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We've heard from residents and local partners that anti-social behaviour in certain areas of Street has been causing concern, particularly involving groups of young people.

In response, we've launched regular high-visibility patrols to reassure the community, deter further incidents and engage directly with those involved. Tackling this sort of behaviour is a priority for us, and we're working closely with youth services, local authorities and neighbourhood groups to address the root causes."

Anti-social behaviour can have a significant impact on local quality of life, particularly when it takes place in parks, near shops or in residential areas.

Officers are also encouraging residents to report any further issues so they can build a more accurate picture of where and when problems are occurring.

The patrols are expected to continue throughout the summer, with police working alongside local services to find long-term solutions and offer support to young people at risk of offending.

Anyone affected by anti-social behaviour can report incidents via the Avon and Somerset Police website or by calling 101. In an emergency, always call 999.
