Plans submitted to turn barns in Butleigh into two homes

Two barns in Butleigh will be converted into homes if plans submitted to Mendip District Council are given the go-ahead.

Two planning applications for prior approval for a proposed change of use of agricultural buildings to a dwellinghouse (Class C3) and for associated operational development at Reservoir Barns, Reynald's Way, Butleigh, have been submitted by Angus Macdonald.

The barns are part of a four-barn complex near to Longroves Reservoir and, if approved, one barn would be demolished while one other would be converted into a five-bedroom home and another into a three-bedroom home.

Other planning applications in the Glastonbury area submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:

First floor extension over existing kitchen/bathroom at Cold Harbour Cottage, Back River Drove, Sharpham, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Blinman.

Erection of two two-storey side/rear extensions at Hope House, Southtown Lane, West Pennard, is wanted by Mr and Mrs P Jamieson.

Planning applications in the Glastonbury area decided by Mendip District Council this week include:

Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2016/0779/OTS for the erection of a house and garage, matters of appearance/landscaping/scale to be determined at Denehurst, Martin Street, Baltonsborough, by Mr and Mrs Gordon Morris has been approved.

Conversion of former farm building to welfare facility and office at Southway Farm, Glastonbury to Wells Road, Polsham, by R M Penny (Plant Hire and Demolition) has been approved.

Application for a proposed lawful development certificate for replacement of driveway, dropping of kerb, installation of drainage and erection of wall at 5 Barn Green, Glastonbury, by Mr and Mrs Justin Chadburn has been approved.

Rear single storey extension at Bread Cottage, Newtown Lane, West Pennard, by Mr and Mrs P Early has been approved.

Internal alterations and replacement of roof at Madeira, Windmill Hill Road, Glastonbury, by Mr and Mrs Jeneway have been approved.

Erection of extension on east elevation at The Grapevine, High Street, West Lydford, by Mrs Paula Wheatcroft has been approved.
