A parking permit area for residents has been proposed in Wells Road, Glastonbury, and the plans are now open to public consultation.

The proposed permit area is from Chindit House, running along that side of the road towards Butt Close, stopping where the current parking places end.

There will be no waiting at any time on the opposite side of Wells Road and on the end of the permit area from where it stops by Chindit House to the junction with St Edmund's Road.

In the parking permit area, residents only will be able to park there from 8.30am to 6pm on all seven days of the week.

A spokesman for Somerset County Council said: "Following a request from residents of Wells Road, Glastonbury, it is proposed to introduce a permit parking area.

"The proposals are now subject to public consultation which will be promoted by notices on site."
