Despite one of its entrances being blocked off, the Brewers Fayre in Glastonbury will remain open during the works to extend the Premier Inn next door.

Planning permission was granted last month for a three-storey, 39-bedroom extension to the Premier Inn and work has now begun on the site.

A spokesperson for Whitbread, who own the Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre chains, said: "The Premier Inn Hotel in Glastonbury is currently being extended, but both the Premier Inn hotel and Brewers Fayre restaurant remain open and ready to offer great service to our customers.

"During the first stage of building works one entrance has been blocked off, but there is clear signage and arrows directing customers to alternative entrances."

The hotel extension is going into the current car park, with parking being added across the road on a derelict site accessed via Morland Road.
