Parents and carers in Street and Glastonbury with children due to start or move schools in September 2025 are being reminded to get their applications in on time to avoid missing out on their preferred school.

For those with children transferring to Secondary or Upper School, the application window is open now and will close on 31 October 2024. Parents and carers can apply online via the Somerset Council website:

Cllr Heather Shearer, Lead Executive Member for Children, Families and Education at Somerset Council, said: "It's really important that parents in Street and Glastonbury submit their school choices on time, including their local catchment school. Check out open days and make sure to visit local schools to help make the best decision for your child."

For children with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), the council's SEND Local Offer provides additional information about school transitions:

Parents are encouraged to read the Somerset Primary and Secondary Admissions Guides before making an application, which can be accessed at the Somerset Council website.
