Police are continuing to investigate the death of an elderly pedestrian on Green Lane Avenue, Street on Thursday, March 16.

The incident, involving a blue Transit van and a female pedestrian, led to the loss of the pedestrian's life.

The van driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drugs, driving with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specific limit, driving without a licence and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis).

Police have confirmed that he remains released on bail while they continue their investigations.

Witnesses who saw the collision or anyone with dashcam or other footage that could aid this ongoing investigation are still being urged to come forward.
