No one alone this Christmas: Glastonbury opens its doors for festive community dinner
Glastonbury Town Council is once again inviting local residents to enjoy a free Christmas Day lunch at Glastonbury Town Hall.
The annual Community Christmas Dinner, supported by volunteers, will take place on Wednesday 25th December 2024 from 1pm to 3.30pm.
The event is open to anyone in Glastonbury or nearby villages who might otherwise spend Christmas Day alone. Volunteers will be on hand to provide a festive meal and warm welcome, with no booking required – simply turn up on the day.
Transport is available within a five-mile radius for those in need. Residents requiring assistance are encouraged to contact Carol at [email protected] in advance. Disabled access will also be available via St Dunstan’s Car Park.
Guests are reminded that the small hall will not be available as a waiting area this year, so there may be a short wait outside before seating becomes available.
While the meal is free, donations are welcome to help fund next year’s event. All contributions will go directly towards Christmas Lunch 2025.
For any queries or to learn more about volunteering, email the organising team at [email protected].
The council and its volunteers look forward to welcoming residents for a day of festive cheer and community spirit.
The lunch is free to attend, but any donations made will be gratefully accepted and used to support the Christmas Lunch in 2024.
This gesture of generosity will help ensure the continuation of this community-focused tradition.
There is no need for bookings; residents are encouraged to just turn up and join in the festivities.
For further details, the Town Council can be contacted at 01458 831769 or via email at [email protected].
