MP James Heappey keeps role as Minister of State for Armed Forces under new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak

MP for the Wells Consituency James Heappey will continue serving as Minister of State for the Armed Forces under new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He held the role under Boris Johnson, but under Liz Truss he was also given added responsibility, and his role was the Minister of State for the Armed Forces and Veterans.
But Now the Veterans Affairs part of the job has gone to Johnny Mercer, MP for Plymouth Moor View.
Mr Heappey said: "I am hugely honoured to have been asked by the Prime Minister to remain in post as Minister of State for the Armed Forces, with the opportunity to continue working closely with my Ukranian counterpart to ensure the war in his country ends on Ukrainian terms.
"I am also excited to continue the work to transform our armed forces so they can protect UK interests and compete with malign influence the world over."
