Motorcyclist receives serious head injuries in Meare crash

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Meare in which a motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries.

It happened at about 8.30pm last night (August 2) in St Mary's Road in Meare.

The motorcyclist – a man in his 20s – was in collision with a wall.

He sustained serious head and facial injuries, including a broken jaw, which are not believed to be life threatening or life changing and was taken to Southmead Hospital, in Bristol.

A police spokesperson said: "We're keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help our enquiries.

"We would particularly like to contact the driver of a blue Seat Leon car which was believed to be in the area at the time. We believe that he might have information to help our enquiries."
