Mid Somerset Hockey Club is inviting players, families and anyone interested in the sport to its Club Day at Wells Blue Sports Centre this weekend.

The event takes place on Saturday, 12 September, with junior games in the morning followed by a mixed senior tournament during the afternoon.

The day is being billed as an opportunity to enjoy hockey, meet people involved with the club and find out more about taking part, with all ages welcome.

Junior activities will run from 10 am until 12 noon, with games and mini games designed around fun, skills and teamwork. The session is open to all juniors.

From 12 noon until 4 pm, attention turns to the senior section for a mixed tournament featuring teams of six or seven players.

The club is encouraging teams to get creative with names and outfits, with fancy dress also part of the afternoon.

Away from the matches, there will be music throughout the day, along with snacks, food and drinks.

A raffle will also be held with prizes available, while members of the club's committee and team captains will be on hand to meet visitors.

Anyone interested in joining or learning more about Mid Somerset Hockey Club will also be able to visit a club information desk during the event.

The Club Day takes place at Wells Blue Sports Centre on Saturday, 12 September, with junior activities from 10 am to noon and the senior mixed tournament running from noon until 4 pm.
