A man has been arrested in Street after causing a disturbance on the High Street – and is now heading back to prison.

Police were called to the town centre on Saturday (14 June) following multiple reports of disruptive behaviour involving a single male.

Response officers attended the scene and arrested the man for public order offences.

Following his arrest, checks revealed the man was already wanted on recall to prison. He has since been detained and is awaiting transport back into custody.

A police spokesperson said: "We'd like to thank the members of the public who reported the incident. Your vigilance plays a vital role in keeping our community safe."

Residents are urged to report any suspicious or disruptive behaviour by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
