House prices climb in Street and Glastonbury – but sellers are still cutting deals to shift homes

If you're looking to buy in Street or Glastonbury, you might want to strike while the market's hot – and sellers are still shaving off serious money to get homes sold.
New data from the Land Registry reveals average property prices in Street (BA16) hit £269,390 in March 2025 – up £7,395 over the past 12 months and nearly £37,000 in five years.
Just down the road in Glastonbury (BA6), the average home now costs £313,750, climbing by £8,393 in a year and nearly £42,000 over the past five years.
But while prices are rising, the market's far from fast-moving. In Glastonbury, homes are sitting on the market for an average of 76 days and typically sell for £11,137 less than the original asking price. In Street, it's a little quicker – 43 days on average – but sellers are still taking a £8,963 hit.

Who's buying what – and where
In the past year, 145 properties were sold in Street – a slight drop on the previous year – with most priced between £264,000 and £316,000. Another 31 homes sold between £212,000 and £264,000.
Glastonbury saw 151 property sales, down more than 43% year-on-year. Most went for between £224,000 and £298,000, followed by homes priced up to £372,000.
The flashiest addresses in Street and Glastonbury
If you've got cash to burn, head for the hills – or at least Butleigh and Baltonsborough.
The most expensive street near Glastonbury is Barton Road in Butleigh, where homes average a cool £1,042,833, followed closely by Church Walk in Baltonsborough (£983,333) and Stone Lane in Parbrook (£926,508).
In Street, Overleigh leads the way at £724,000, with Wraxhill Road (£604,166) and Housman Road (£598,370) snapping at its heels.
But for those hunting a bargain, there's still hope. In Street, Quantock Court tops the affordable list at just £70,200, and in Glastonbury, Northload Hall averages just £75,937.

"Looking at the data for Street and Glastonbury, we only included streets with more than three property sales to avoid skewed results," said Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam.
"In Street, average prices on Overleigh reached as high as £724,000, while some properties in Quantock Court sold for just over £70,000. In Glastonbury, streets like Barton Road in Butleigh saw average prices top £1 million, compared to under £76,000 in more affordable spots like Northload Hall."
