A man has been arrested in the centre of Glastonbury after allegedly breaching his bail conditions — and being found with drugs in his possession.

Police swooped on Magdalene Street on Monday 10 June, detaining the suspect who had previously been banned from entering the area as part of his bail terms.

During the arrest, officers carried out a search and uncovered a quantity of Class B drugs.

The man was taken into custody and is due to appear in court today (Wednesday), facing charges for breaching bail and drug-related offences.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the arrest was made by the local neighbourhood team as part of their ongoing efforts to keep the town centre safe.
