Looking for a new job or just pretending you are to avoid doing the dishes?
Glastonbury and Street have a solid crop of local listings this week — from kitchens to classrooms, belts to boilers. Whether you're seeking stability or something temporary to fund the festival tickets, here's what's cropping up locally.
Care homes don't feed themselves, and the kitchen at a local one needs a head chef – Glastonbury care home. It's full-time and involves leading the catering team, planning meals, and trying to keep paperwork from sliding behind the microwave. Weekend pay is enhanced, and there's leave, perks and schemes.
Prezzo in Street is after a sous chef to help keep the pasta coming. Pay is £13.50–£14.50 plus tronc, with the usual promise of training and career progression (pasta pun optional).

Over at Iceland, they're looking for a home delivery driver to schlep frozen goods to local homes and a retail assistant to keep the shelves and spirits high. Must have a licence (driver) or a tolerance for freezers and fussy shoppers (retail).
TD Recruitment wants a recycling warehouse operative to sort stuff on a picking belt, clean the yard, and generally look like they know what goes in which skip. PPE provided. Monday to Friday, 07:00–17:00.
Meanwhile, Ernest Gordon Recruitment needs a water treatment engineer (field based) — a roaming sort with plumbing or pipefitting chops, ideally. Training, a van and overtime on offer.
If your talents lean more vehicular, My Four Wheels will train you as a driving instructor. Set your own hours, drive around town, and try not to yell. Potential to earn up to £50k.
Five Education wants a cover supervisor to babysit classrooms when teachers are off — no lesson planning required, just a firm voice and a decent tolerance for Year 8 chat.
TeacherActive is after a primary teacher for a long-term post. Around £170 per day, with training and bonuses thrown in. Classroom experience and visible enthusiasm required.

UCS College Group has a lecturer – supported internship education role supporting young people with learning difficulties on the Project Search programme. English, maths and plenty of empathy needed.
And finally, if you're handier with clipboards than kids, BDS is recruiting a stock condition team leader to oversee housing surveys and ensure Somerset's homes meet required standards. Experience in surveying and managing people is needed.
