Jobs in Glastonbury and Street: Curtains, kitchens and careers on the Road
By Laura Linham 12th Sep 2025
This week's Glastonbury round-up has a bit of everything: health roles with serious salaries, steady driving jobs, trades on the tools, and even a chance to get paid for your DIY skills with curtains and blinds. Whether you're after local graft, a career step-up, or simply a reliable wage, there's something here to suit.
Starting in the home, Hillarys is looking for a Blinds and Curtains Installer. It's self-employed, with flexible hours and the satisfaction of making people's living rooms look smarter. Handy types with a good tape measure will do well.
On the road, there's a permanent Class 1 Driver job. It's trunking box trailers, no handball, which means no lugging heavy loads around – just keep the wheels turning. There's also another HGV Class 1 Driver role through Synergise Recruitment, paying £18 an hour for multidrop deliveries. CPC required, but a solid gig for experienced drivers.
If construction is more your speed, there's long-term work in Telecoms Civils. They're after two-person gangs to handle ducting and box builds for fibre installs – essential graft that keeps the broadband running. On the bigger end, there's a Project Manager contract at £400 a day for large public sector projects. And if you just want to get stuck in, there's a CSCS Labourer role at £16 an hour, working on strip-outs and fit-outs in town.

Healthcare is hiring too, with a local practice looking for an ANP/Prescribing Paramedic. Salary is £60k and it's a progressive environment, so you'll be well-rewarded for your skills.
On the sales side, there's a Dairy Services Key Account Manager post covering the South West. Salary is £50k with hybrid possible – a good mix of home and travel, and a role that keeps the region's farmers connected.
If kitchens are your comfort zone, Prezzo is recruiting a Line Chef. Pay is £12.50–£13 an hour plus tronc, and you'll be part of a lively Italian restaurant team serving up pasta and pizza.
And for the electricians, there's a mobile Maintenance Electrician role. NVQ/SVQ Level 3 plus 18th edition is required, with a £40,593 salary. A solid package for keeping systems running safely.
That's Glastonbury and Street's list this week – from kitchens to cabs, care to construction. If you're still browsing, check out the Nub News jobs board for even more local options.
